Nutritional and Dietary Needs of Different Groups of People The nutritional and dietary needs of people will vary according to the life stage they are at, which are categorised into the following groups of people: - babies - toddlers - pre-school children - school aged children - adolescents - adults - older people pregnant and lactating women. As part of the GCSE course you need to be aware of the needs of the above groups.

Nutritional and Dietary Needs of Different Groups of People Find the correct foods for the following: Pregnant women need to have a high quantity of fibre in their diet to prevent constipation. Identify 5 foods high in fibre. Pregnant women should avoid certain foods to prevent harm to the foetus. Identify 2 foods that pregnant women should avoid to eat.

Nutritional and Dietary Needs of Different Groups of People Pregnant women should avoid a high vitamin A intake to prevent possible birth defects in the baby. Identify 2 foods that have a high vitamin A content. Pregnant women should ensure that they obtain sufficient folate to prevent birth defects such as spina bifida.
