Presentation transcript:

P4 Newsletter Emmaus Lutheran Preschool October 19, 2018 Message from the Teachers: Jesus Time: This week for Jesus Time, the children learned about how we “Praise the Lord” ( Psalm 96 and 98). They learned that God moves us to praise Him for all He is and all He has done, especially in sending Jesus to die on the cross and rise again. Praise is a natural outcome of Christian’s life. We, as God’s dearly beloved children, cant help but praise Him for all the grace, love, and mercy He showers on us. Words to Remember: Great is the LORD! Psalm 96:4 Our theme this week was Fall Harvest. The children learned about the changes we see during the fall season, and the vegetables we harvest in Fall. For skills, the children focused on writing the letter Gg, the number 9 and learned the words “I, will, a, my, have”. A Peek at Our Week Monday: The children listened to the story The Leaves on the Trees by Thom Wiley. They discussed the changes in weather they started to see outside. For our center, we string painted using fall colored paint. Tuesday: The children listened to the story The Big Leaf Pile by Norman Birdwell. For our center, the children painted a leaf of their choice. They mixed colors so that their leaves “looked like the leaves outside”. Wednesday: The children went to Chapel, where they heard the story of baby Moses. Then they went to preview the book fair. They were paired up with an eighth grader, who helped them make a list of books they liked. Thursday: The children read the book Pumpkin Countdown by Joan Holub. They talked about growing pumpkins and identified the different parts of a pumpkin. For their center, the children decorated a pumpkin cutout using orange and brown tissue paper. Friday: The children read the book The Berenstain Bears’ Fall Festival by Mike Berenstain. For their center, the children made paper plate scarecrows. Reminders: Picture Day is Thursday October 25. The Fall Festival is Friday October 26. Preschool will close at 3. (Star Wars Theme) Theme: Fall Harvest Skills: Letter Ii Number 10
