MISSION OBJECTIVES to ACTION PLANS For each objective create the actions required to implement them: “this is the what, who, where and when”. Answering the following questions can be a useful guide: What actions are appropriate to this objective? Which actions will we take first? Who will do them? When will these actions happen? What resources do we need? Where will these resources be found?
ACTION PLANS The format and content of an Action Plan is fairly straight forward and simple and an Association can adopt any style that it wishes to use. Examples: Statement of Specific Action This field of the Action Plan describes, very briefly, the specific action intended to support the Strategic Goal addressed. Strategic Goal Addressed This field of the Action Plan is the quantified statement of the Strategic Goal being addressed that was decided by the senior management at the beginning of the business planning process.

Description of Primary Actions This field of the Action Plan describes the primary actions that will be undertaken to achieve the stated Strategic Goal.

Plan Implementation and Performance Monitoring Ensure all those delivering the plan understand what they are doing, when & why clear expectations. Using the monitoring information we can then measure the progress we have made and make any necessary changes. Defining goals Ensuring delivery 4. Evaluating results 3. Monitoring progress Ensure the all resources are in place and individuals supported to deliver tasks, projects & programmes. Use monitoring tools to measure the progress of the plan.
Implementing the plan and monitoring performance An effective and easy method to use to monitor the progress of the plan is to adopt a traffic light system. Aims, objectives, goals and targets within the plan are listed against either; Red: No or minimal progress made Amber: Progress has been made although not complete Green: Target/aim/objective etc has been completed successfully Aim/target/ objective etc Status Information Required action
