Mrs. Jensen’s Weekly News Important Dates What are we learning? Sept. 19h – 1:20 Dismissal What are we learning? This week we focused on the letters Ee through Ii. We also worked on numbers 5 – 9. We learned three new color words: black, white & yellow. We read a story each day that was all about each letter and sang songs to help us learn our letter sounds. We practiced rainbow writing each letter, writing the letters on dry erase boards and finally writing the letter with our pencils. For math, we had a teddy bear tea party to work on sorting. That was fun! Corinna, our principal, had kindergarten join her in the art room for a story and project. This was in celebration of Dot Day! We went to the library for the 1st time! Library books should be returned each Thursday . This gives our librarian a chance to get ready for us on Friday. Friday is our day to visit the library for a story and to check out two books. One will be kept in your child’s book bin at school and the other is to go home to be read. THANK YOU to those that sent the ALL ABOUT ME! bag to school. It’s been so exciting getting to know each other better. Reminders Please continue to send a jacket with your child. Tennis shoes need to be worn daily for gym.
