- A post-processing tool FRAPOST adapted for LINUX environment FRAPCON-3 2012-2014 First developments based on FRAPCON-3.4a Tool FRAPVALID and FRAPCON-3.4a developments delivered to US NRC in November 2013 - Migration of the FRAPCON code to a LINUX environment (compile, run, post-process) - A post-processing tool FRAPOST adapted for LINUX environment Development of an automatic tool (FRAPVALID) in order to assess the code. This tool consists in a launcher of the test-cases and an automatic procedure to extract FRAPCON results and integrate them in a pdf report.

FRAPCON-3 Opportunity to perform comparison of results obtained with different versions. Comparison between experimental data and calculation results

FRAPCON-3 May 2014: New version FRAPCON-3.5 has been released. IRSN included developments performed on FRAPCON-3.4a in the newest version FRAPCON-3.5. US NRC tested the FRAPVALID tool and IRSN helps for use FRAPCON-3.5 adapted by IRSN LINUX environment, post-processing tool Modification of the FRAPVALID tool for the assessment of the code

FRAPCON-3 IRSN add some ramp data in order to enrich the assessment database of the code. Example :

FRAPCON-3 The FRAPOST and FRAPVALID tool based on FRAPCON-3.5 were released to US NRC in 2015. IRSN will now perform studies based on the code for “French” application: base irradiation evaluation (previous step before RIA application with SCANAIR code), ramp test calculations, thermal-mechanical evolution of the rod for reactor maintained at intermediate power during extended duration (e. g. ELPO)… IRSN will start in the next months a definition of the strategy for a Storage/Transportation version of FRAPCON, including models to be considered for hydriding, oxidation, creep, hydrogen diffusion, hydride reorientation… ? IRSN will participate to the NEA/OCDE Benchmark on Ramp Tests with FRAPCON-3 or 4
