How to Use this Thanksgiving Party Pack Tip one Ask for volunteers! In this pack, a sign-up sheet is provided. Ideally, 3 volunteers are most helpful to roam between the stations and help where needed. However, all the stations can be done with minimal help. (if any, depending on your grade) tip two Decide on which stations you will use and the materials you will need. All printables included. tip three You could have a feast where everyone brings a traditional dish to share and complete these activities before the feast. They could use the placemats provided. Directions for each station Station: gobble, gobble, laugh until you wobble In this station, students work in pairs. Each pair gets one joke. The students have to illustrate the joke on construction paper and then at the end of the party, everyone tells their joke. One person in the pair could ask the joke and the other person could say the answer (after possibly taking some guesses). Station: Craft: Make a turkey hat In this station, students make a simple turkey hat with the provided template. Just cut a strip of brown paper to fit around the child’s head. Station: decorate a cupcake In this station, you will need cupcakes (with icing) ready to go. Have children add any type of candy as the feathers (I used leftover candy from Halloween), candy eyes (I got mine from Walmart), beaks, and wabble. I made beaks and wabble from fruit roll-ups. Directions for each station Station: Thanksgiving pictionary In this station, students play pictionary in their small groups. They pick a word from the ‘hat’ and draw the word without talking. The first person to yell it out wins. Chart paper or other large size paper is needed for this station. Station: Guess the thanksgiving object In this station, students can work individually or with a partner to guess the hidden object. Whole group game and activity The class can play Thanksgiving Bingo as a whole group. Student can also complete and color the placemat. Copyright 2012 A Modern Teacher
