Saying Thank You
#1: Ask Yourself, “Should I Say Thank You?”
Simple Courtesies Someone opened a door for you; Someone asked you to join a game; Someone asked you to come over; Someone picked up something you dropped.
Compliments Someone complimented your clothing, hair, or a picture you drew.
Enjoyable Times with Others You enjoyed a party, movie with a friend, or a good time playing ball.
When You’ve Been Served Someone gave you food, drinks, or special help.
Favors of Any Kind Someone loaned you a pencil, gave you a ride home, or helped you with schoolwork.
Always say thank you, whether you like the present or not! Presents Always say thank you, whether you like the present or not!
#2: Choose a Good Time
Interrupting Be sure not to interrupt someone who is talking to someone else. Wait until they are finished talking before saying “Thank you.”
#3: Be Sincere & Friendly Use positive body language when saying thank you.
