BACKPACKS IN BACK OF ROOM 3/9 Warm Up- Wednesday Finishing Test Today! Make sure you have: BACKPACKS IN BACK OF ROOM Something to write with Flipchart Calculator

3/10 Warm Up- Thursday

3/10 Objective I will review solving with graphing calculator features such as y= and 2nd MATRIX.

Use y= steps from your flipchart to solve two step equations.

Build a bridge and put left side in to y1 and right side in to y2. It’ll look like this in the calculator

Next, go to ZOOM 3. Press ENTER until lines cross.

Now go to 2nd TRACE 5 Press ENTER until you see Intersection.

Remember ‘x’ is the answer. Use the variable (letter) from the problem and write the equation.

Use MATRIX steps from your flipchart to solve systems of equations.

Identify A, B, and C. Ax + By = C Watch for negatives!

Go to 2nd MATRIX, then over to EDIT then ENTER Put in 2 ENTER 3 ENTER (we have two equations with three parts) Then input A, B, and C

Hit 2nd QUIT. Goes to blank home screen but you did not lose information. Go to 2nd MATRIX again. Over to MATH Then up five to B:rref(

Go to 2nd MATRIX ENTER ENTER Top right will be x-value. Bottom right will be y-value.

Write answer as an ordered pair.

3/11: Warm Up- Friday

I will be able to explain math process in an essay. 3/11 Objectives I will be able to explain math process in an essay.

3/11 Writing Prompt We have many tools that can help us solve problems in our algebra class. One of the tools we use most often is our graphing calculator. We use it for straight up math, to solve for a variable (y=), to solve systems of equations (matrix), and to find the equation of a line (stat enter). Write a 3 to 5 paragraph essay about which is your favorite feature of the graphing calculator and how you use it.
