We interviewed Sadhbh’s Grandmother. Hope you injoy it!!!

what did you eat? Bread and Butter, fruit and Blackberries

where did you go to school? i went to school in Killorglin

what games did you play? i played hopscoch and ring a rosie.

can you remember a song or poem you learned in school? three blind mice and hickory dickory dock.

did you hAVE A UNIFORM ? I DID NOT HAVE A UNIFORM

did you have to walk to school? I had to walk to school SS

can you remember a special time in your childhood and compare it to ours? my birthday and i got no present

can you remember your favourite childhood memory ? yes I can my communion

your memories from school We had to bring a sod of turf for the fire. We had an open fire to keep the classroom warm. Girls were thought on one side of the school, boys on the other side. If you knew your tables you would get an apple.

What did you do for entertainment We had no TV. We played games outside.

What did you do for holidays? We went to Caherciveen or we went to Croke Park for a game.

When did you wear your good clothes? I wore them for Sunday Mass

What did you have as special food? We had Barn Brack at Christmas. Madeira cake as well on other occasions.
