More data. More information. Conclusion and Future Work CityView: Urban Data Visualization Carlos Barcelos, Justin Myerson Advisors: Prof. Yanhua Li, Prof. Xiangan Kong Worcester Polytechnic Institute Background CityView Features CityView Website More data. More information. More applications. Data is being collected at an amazing rate. It is important to visualize and make sense of that data and put it to use. Fig. 1 SURV, a REU project, was used as a foundation and inspiration for CityView [1] Fig. 5 Experience Static Data Visualizations Fig. 6 Explore Time Series Data Visualizations Fig. 7 Interact with Dynamic Data Visualizations Fig. 8, 9 CityView interface and QR code access [5] Conclusion and Future Work The result of the work done during the course of this project is an interactive website which provides users with a multitude of analysis techniques. CityView gives users the power to analyze datasets of varying spatial-temporal categorization while providing real- world scenarios in which this system could be used for urban development. A few of our recommendations for future work to further improve CityView are listed below: Allow users to upload their own data Allow for more unique data types Add live data feed compatibility Create a dedicated backend Objectives Create a feature rich, practical system which: Allows users to interact with large data sets Provides depth and clarity of data types, featured datasets, and their visualizations Is technically and practically ready for future contribution Technologies Fig. 2, 3 Leaflet and Mapbox offer robust visualizations of spatially static data [2][3] Fig. 4 CARTO is a cloud computing platform that provides web mapping tools [4] REFERENCES [1] "Smart Urban Visualization".
