EA/CC Report for IAF TC IAF/TC Annual March 2016 Choosing the most relevant Conformity Assessment Standard New Work Item underway To provide guidance to scheme owners, regulators ad others on how to chose between ISO/IEC 17021-1 and ISO/IEC 17065 as the best fit standard for a new scheme. Task Force Group set up to provide first draft of guidance. Follow-up, in coordination with the EA Inspection Committee to expand the guidance to also cover ISO/IEC 17020.

EA/CC Report for IAF TC IAF/TC Annual March 2016 Choosing the most relevant Conformity Assessment Standard Workshop event at Vilnius As a first step towards the proposed guidance; delegates were divided into groups and asked to consider: - • What are the key aspects that define Management Systems certification? • What are the key aspects that define Product/process/service certification? • What do we need to consider when deciding if a scheme or scope area should be covered by ISO/IEC 17021-1 or ISO/IEC 17065?

Interpretation of recertification requirements in ISO/IEC 17021-1 Accreditation for Notification project – use of harmonised Standards for accrediting Notified Bodies ETSI scheme for Trust Service Providers, in support of the EU eIDAS Regulation Project now finished and ETSI conformity assessment standard issued. Paper being developed regardgin how far ABs can go in advising scheme owners on the development of new schemes.
