BUT BETTER, LAKOTA STYLE!

When is it? Monday, may 15th 9-9:30 Mandatory Senior Meeting @ LWHS 9:30-9:45 Load up buses 10:00 arrive at your elementary school! 10:00-10:30 PARADE OF GRADUATES! 10:45-11:00 RETURN TO LWHS

What do you need to do to participate? Bring your cap and gown on Monday May 15th Leave your tassel at home--- it is too likely to get lost!!! Check the wall for your bus/elementary assignment Should be headed to your 6th grade building Didn’t go to Lakota in 6th grade? –you have been assigned to a school Bring your sign!! (next slide!)

Your Graduate sign Why- for the little kids…. Research shows when little kids see BIG KIDS WHO LOOK LIKE THEM BEING SUCCESSFUL… THEY ARE MORE LIKELY TO BELIEVE THEY CAN BE Successful TOO!!

What should your sign say??? Name of college with Baby picture YOUR PLANNED major Proud to overcome… THE logo/mascot I conquered… Place of employment 1st generation… Armed services in order to graduate, I OVERCAME… “Still deciding!”

Examples: FUTURE DOCTOR! Cincinnati State Culinary Arts I HAVE NO IDEA Working my way through college! Examples: THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY! I OVERCAME moving to the USA and learning ENGLISH Proud to be a future falcon! FUTURE DOCTOR! University of Cincinnati Future Electrical Engineer MARINE I HAVE NO IDEA …BUT I WILL FIGURE IT OUT!! I hate math…. But I passed all 4 required years for this!! First female in my family to attend college!!!

Your very last responsibility! So these 2nd -6th graders are currently working on some special gifts for you guys…. They are writing letters to you to congratulate you, and give you very important advice… Each senior needs to take about 7 letters so EVERY LITTLE KID gets to give a big kid a gift… Those of you at the end of the line– just in case we miss some at the front--- take every letter you see!
