LIVERPOOL FRINGE FESTIVAL 2019: REGISTRATION PACK

Registering The deadline to register for the festival is the 8th March. We have two registration fees for the 2018 Liverpool Fringee, a standard fee and an early bird fee: Early Bird Fee: £25 (all registrations submitted before the 20th January) Standard Fee: £35 (all registrations between 20thJanuary & 20th March) The registration fee excludes your venue hire arrangement you come to with your venue. The act will keep 100% of the box office, unlessthey have made a box office split arrangementwith the venue.

What you Get for Registering A slot on the festival website. A slot in our festival brochure (which will be distributed to our mailing list, local residents and selected local and City publicity outlets Entry into the festival awards Opportunity to perform in the Fast Fringe Free Festival pass to all perfomers in shows, giving free access to all fringe shows (available on the door, subject to availability).

Find a venue This year, we’re offering two different venue options. Option 1: FRINGE FREE VENUE Option 2: FIND YOUR OWN VENUE

FRINGE FREE VENUES This year we’re introducing ‘Fringe Free Venues’, to make theatre more accessible for cash stripped theatre companies. The Fringe Society has booked out three venues, The Pilgrim, Caledonia and one other venue TBC, which are all free to acts. We’ll also aim to add both lighting and sound to these venues, to ensure the best experience for acts.

How do I book a Free Fringe Venue Simply fill in your registration form. When you complete Section 5, fill in Section (5a), rating the ‘Fringe Free Venues’ in order of preference. We will get back to you within a week, to discuss which slots are available at the ‘Fringe Free Venues’, based on your preferences. We’ll offer you a provisional 90 minute slot (This includes Get in, Get Out). Once you’ve paid your registration fee the slot will be confirmed. This process will be done on a first come first served basis, and will be consistent with a open-access policy. Ou

Find your own Venue You may decide you wish to ‘Find your own Venue’ This can include venues on our website that are not ‘Free Fringe Venues’ or even venues that are not on our website.

How to book your own venue If you book your own venue, you’ll need to book the venue prior to registering. Once you have picked your venue, contact them using the contact details provided.by us on the website Venues will operate a range of different program-ming policies. Some will work on a first come firstserve basis and allow you to book a slot straight away, while others may operate a programming policy and require more details prior to making a decision on whether to programme you. Venues work on different criterias and quality control. If your first choice venue need time before deciding whether to programme you, you may wish to enquire about other venues as a back-up.

How to Book your own venue cont. This is fine, but please treat all venues respectfully and with honesty, once you've accepted a slot, please stick by that slot. We’d advise you to approaching different venues if you’re not accepted by your first venue. Prior to booking ensure you have all the information you require from the venue, for example their technical equipment, are you required to use their technician, or are they happy for you to bring your own. We’d always advise requesting to see the venue if your unfamiliar.

Registering If your using a ‘Free Fringe Venue’ you will register straight away. If you are ‘Choosing your own Venue’ then once you’ve found and booked your venue, you need to complete the registration form. Make all the decisions you need to make, complete it and send it back to us at registration@liverpoolfringe.co.uk (please note this is a different email address). Please contact us if you need to post the registration form. To be included in the programme we require a blurb (no more than 45 words – if it is over it will be cut). A picture that should be sent with your registration. This will be included on the website and programme and will help to market your show. If you do not have a photo of your act at the time of registering, you may send it separately, but must be submitted prior to the deadline if it’s to be included in the brochure Once you've applied, we will then contact you about paying your registration fee, to confirm your slot at the festival.

Fringe Events Throughout the process, keep an eye out for our events. These include our 24 hour play festival, launch party and award’s evening. We’ll keep you posted through our website and mailing list. Some events are meant to be fun, while other are aimed to help with your registration and production.

Complete Forms Your venues may wish for you to complete some extra forms (e.g. risk assessment), ensure that these are done by the required deadline.

Market your Show Prepare your marketing material. Once you have registered we'll send you a performers pack, with recommended places for distributing posters and flyers etc, the best press contacts etc. Read through this and attempt to do as much marketing as you can. Fringe festival audiences can vary hugely, last years everage was approx 18 (the rumour use to be that the average at Edinburgh was 4), however those acts that market their shows the most, tend to get the best audiences.
