The Battle of Hastings: 1066 Date: 4 June 2015 The Battle of Hastings: 1066 Starter! What would a medieval battle look, smell and sound like? Learning Gain: All learners will explore the event of The Battle of Hastings and investigate how important it was in English history.

Write down anything in GREEN. The Battle of Hastings was an extremely important event in English history. It decided who would rule England from 1066 onwards. It was the last time that any foreign invading force successfully conquered England. The consequence of the Battle of Hastings was that England would never be the same again – it changed politically, socially and economically. The Battle of Hastings
