Making Decisions

Story Listen to the story “Button, Button” by Richard Matheson. Be prepared to make decisions for the protagonist as you hear more of the story.

Note As we evaluate our decisions, we should keep in mind three principles: We must never do evil even for the sake of accomplishing something good. We should always treat others with the same love and respect with which we wish to be treated. Everything we do should reflect genuine concern for people.

Textbooks Page 80 – Making the Right Decision Seeing Judging (Magesterium) Acting Evaluating

Textbooks Page 81 – Caught in the Act Answer the following reflection questions: What do you think Jon decided to do? Why? How did Jon form his conscience in order to make this decision? Is there anything important you think Jon failed to consider? What do you think is the most loving thing to do in this case? Explain your answer in light of our culture, Scripture and what the Church teaches.
