Equatives Equatives are used to compare people or things, showing similarities and differences, using as +…adjective…+ as not as + adjective + as e.g.1 The waiter is as polite as the waitress. but hes not as fast as she is. not as fast as she is. Sometimes the meaning is clear from context in which case theres no need to mention the second as e.g. I like the old menu. The new one isnt as varied. adjective
