NSAMRT Town Hall MRT Week Nov 4th 2017

NSAMRT is now renting office space @ 380 Bedford Hwy NSAMRT is now renting office space @ 380 Bedford Hwy. It is a great space which also gives us access to meeting rooms and 4 other regulatory groups that we can collaborate with. I am usually there 9-3 Mon-Fri when I do not have outside meetings. So while I welcome drop in visits I would suggest you call ahead to ensure I will be there. New Office

There has been no movement in proclamation of our regulations by the government. It is my understanding they currently have two lawyers working on regulatory documents. They each have been working on one set of regulations for the last year. We are slated as the next for review. We have already been promised summer than fall and this has not happened. I continue to touch base with the government to ensure they are aware we are anxious for proclamation to proceed and the issues the delay is causing us. Regulations https://tinyurl.com/y8cxcebe

Social Media https://tinyurl.com/ya6d3ofw NSAMRT will soon be on social media. A Facebook page is imminent, this will be anther method we will use to let members know of upcoming events, links to resources, and any policy/legal updates that MRTs need to be aware of. The Communication Committee is ironing out the final details and ensuring NSAMRT has a finalized social media code of conduct policy prior to going live. Social Media https://tinyurl.com/ya6d3ofw

Continuing Professional Development Program CPD - Credentials committee has been busy incorporating the feedback from the membership and putting the final touches on the CPD program. Currently on the agenda for the upcoming board meeting, once approved an eblast with links to documents will be sent out as well as a posting to Facebook. The final package of documents will include the full detailed document, a quick reference table of CPR activities and credit values, a mock CPD program, and a summary of the feedback NSAMRT received since the initial draft was circulated which includes the changes made to the CPD program based on feedback. http://iagre.org/cpd Continuing Professional Development Program

We are currently in the midst of renewal season, it is expected this will be the last registration season using the current platform with the hope of having a new registration platform going live in late spring or early summer. Our current platform is a clunky and is really meant more as an events platform and falls short of our needs for a registration platform. This is a major project and investment for NSAMRT. The request for proposal will be posted in the next couple of weeks with and expected close date in Dec and a consultant picked early in the New Year. The new registration platform will allow members to update their own personal information, Improve NSAMRT’s ability to retrieve and utilize data and will incorporate the ability to electronically manage member CPD portfolios. https://blog.capterra.com/expect-from-a-complete-registration-system/ Registration

Standards of Practice (SOP) Code of Ethics (COE) NSAMRT has been looking for opportunities to collaborate. Developing Standards of Practice was identified as an opportunity to collaborate with NBAMRT. They have very similar legislation and were also in need of developing standards of practice. The Professional Conduct Committee has worked very hard this year and finished their Standards of Practice Draft. A request for expressions of interest was sent out and a consultant has been selected. It is expected we will have a final product next spring. The plan is two separate the SOP for NS and NB near the end of the process to address differences such as referencing of pertinent legislation and the inclusion of sonography practice examples in the NSAMRT document. NSAMRT will also have the consultant work with us for creation of a code of ethics. This will not be a shared document with NBAMRT. https://www.psa.org.au/membership/ethics Standards of Practice (SOP) Code of Ethics (COE)

Atlantic Conference: April 6&7th at the Credit Union Place in PEI Atlantic Conference: April 6&7th at the Credit Union Place in PEI. The conference is themed Self-Care to Patient-Care and will focus on the caring aspect of our profession as well as well-being. This will be open to NSAMRT, NBAMRT, PEIAMRT and NLAMRT. There are 50 seats reserved members of each association and the content will be delivered via webinar as well. Please keep your eyes peeled for conference registration information. Planning to date has been going very well. Sponsorship levels are promising and it is still the plan to offer the conference to members for free. Final decisions on this will be made in the New Year when sponsorship levels have been confirmed. Atlantic Conference

NSAMRT’s strategic plan covers 2015-1017 NSAMRT’s strategic plan covers 2015-1017. This means we need to develop strategic plan for2018-2020. I am currently drafting a request for expression of interest with expectation of having a facilitated lead planning session in Feb 2018. http://www.leoisaac.com/planning/index.htm Strategic Plan
