Expression of heat shock protein 70 in grossly resected esophageal squamous cell carcinoma  Tsuyoshi Noguchi, MD, PhD, Shinsuke Takeno, MD, PhD, Tomotaka Shibata, MD, Yuzo Uchida, MD, PhD, Shigeo Yokoyama, MD, PhD, Wolfram Müller, MD  The Annals of Thoracic Surgery  Volume 74, Issue 1, Pages 222-226 (July 2002) DOI: 10.1016/S0003-4975(02)03641-X

Fig 1 Immunohistochemical staining for heat shock protein 70 in normal squamous epithelium (A), dysplasia (B), and squamous cell carcinoma (C). Heat shock protein 70 localized in the nuclei of normal squamous epithelium. In contrast, cytoplasmic and nuclear expression of heat shock protein 70 was observed in squamous dysplasia. Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma also exhibited a predominantly cytoplasmic staining pattern. The Annals of Thoracic Surgery 2002 74, 222-226DOI: (10.1016/S0003-4975(02)03641-X)

Fig 2 Heat shock protein 70 expression correlated with a favorable prognosis in univariate analysis (p < 0.05). The Annals of Thoracic Surgery 2002 74, 222-226DOI: (10.1016/S0003-4975(02)03641-X)
