Essential Question: How does personal financing relate to you?

The Task As a family you need to decide, in this economy, is investment a choice you will make in order to reach your personal retirement goals.

The Process As a GROUP: Define Retirement Savings Investing Find difference between savings and investing. Find similarities between savings and investing. INDIVIDUALLY decide: What would be the best plan to save for retirement?

The Process Continued… As a “family” you will turn in ONE paper defining and answering the questions in the introduction and the process. Individually you will turn in a persuasive paper explaining your decision for retirement and explain your position.

Evaluation The persuasive paper and the group paper will be graded using the rubric provided in class. The focus will be on content and delivery. Make sure that you have a good understanding of your content and that you are able to make your argument persuasively.

Conclusion You should now have a better understanding of savings and investing and when to do both. Hopefully you are able to determine for yourself how to best prepare for retirement with the given circumstances and time.
