Last Month’s Star Students Congrats to our Star Students!  Ms. Mixon’s Classroom Newsletter December 2018 Dates to Remember Classroom News Happy December, Room 102 families! Can you believe we will be halfway through the school year soon? Although we are not in school for the full month of December, there is still so much going on! Thank you to all the parents and family members who came on our field trip and who visited us during American Education Week! As always, your support is very appreciated. Our Winter Concert is quickly approaching. Students should be in the Hester Cafeteria between 6:30 and 6:45pm. The concert starts at 7:00pm. Your second graders have been very busy practicing for their performance and are very excited for you to see it! Our classroom holiday party will be on December 20th. Thank you to those who volunteered to help; you will receive your tickets soon. Before we know it, our holiday break will be here. I will be sending home a packet of work to keep your second grader busy over break. It will be optional, but any second grader who returns it on January 8th will receive a prize for their hard work. Lastly, I wish you and your families a very happy holiday season. I have loved spending 2018 with your second graders, and I can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store for us in Room 102! Students should be reading 15 minutes each night. Raz Kids is a great way to make sure your kids are reading “good fit” books! Book orders are due on December 10! You can also order your books online at https://clubs.scholastic.com/ using the code P7NMG. Please make sure students are practicing addition and subtraction facts every night!
