Welcome back! We hope everyone had a wonderful break and we are glad to have our students back with us. This week we will be going over classroom rules and procedures, reviewing what we learned last semester and laying down a solid foundation for a successful Spring and preparing your child to be a 2nd grader *sniff, sniff*. Anchored in Learning v Reading & Phonics Writing Math Science Social Studies We will review patterns CVC, CVCe, CCVC, open and closed syllables, digraphs (ch,sh,th) and inflectional endings (-ed, -ing) We will be reviewing our classroom contract and classroom rules and procedures. Students will start a draft of their Christmas Break or a New Years Resolution, revise with a peer, and then publish and present their final copy. Students will identify and make congruent shapes, count large collections by tens, compare two-digit numbers and identify each digits place value. Assessment is Friday. Students will discuss and research in which way we should conserve resources. Students will review and participate in New Year’s activities.
