Civil rights

In the constitution 13th Amendment (1864): abolished slavery in all of U.S. AND territories 14th Amendment (1868): citizenship for everyone born in the U.S. Protects the rights of everyone equally Includes former slaves 15th Amendment (1870): gave African American men the right to vote

Question to consider With your table discuss: After the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments were passed, do you think former slaves were welcomed into Southern society?
