Focus 3 October 3-10 What is matter? What is atomic theory? (long answer--need lots of space)

Matter and energy have properties and behaviors that can be studied. 1. Matter is anything that has mass and takes up space. EVERYTHING in the universe is made of matter . . . or energy. Matter and energy have properties and behaviors that can be studied.

This is why there are no ghosts.

Chemistry is the study of matter.

B. Atoms cannot be subdivided, created, or destroyed in ordinary chemical reactions. But these changes CAN occur in nuclear reactions!

These are models of what atoms might look like and can help you understand atomic structure. They do NOT look like any of these.
