Communications: NSBE as a brand One thing to consider when intiating communication with your chapter stakeholders is that they are all consumers in some shape or fashion. Your stakeholders include Chapter members Your College of Engineering Your Alumni/Professionals Yes, even your Board! The list goes on

Define Your Product Lay out vision and goals to your stakeholders. What are your chapter specific benefits to being a NSBE Affiliate at any level? Reduced Conference Fees? Travel Reimbursements? Professional Development? You know better than I Do

The Sale Your Board, Professionals, Members, You name it!

Chapter Executive Board Vary your strategies Don’t rely solely on one communication form research which resources work best for specific tasks Know your personnel Learn what method of communication works best for each member, and follow up with them once communication has begun. Make sure they are well aware of your expectations. They should know the benefits leadership and the privilege it is to be a part of your chapter’s board Make sure they know the consequences of not upholding a standard of excellency.
