RTI and PBIS growing Side by side PBIS in Wisconsin RTI and PBIS growing Side by side

RTI in Wisconsin Separating RTI and SLD Defining RTI: Collaboration, Progress Monitoring, and High Quality Instruction Minimizing tiers and state control Allowing for multiple models of implementation

PBIS and RTI Parallel tracks Working with National Center and model Balancing Academics and Behavior Districts blending both RTI development at local level, PBIS more statewide focus

First Steps into PBIS Early Initiators begin with National Ctr. Promotion of PBIS begins throughout state through conferences. Initial internal planning meetings begin to deal with inquiries. Meeting between DPI and National Ctr. via Lucille Eber Meeting between DPI and districts in PBIS within state. Planning begins to support those already begun.

PBIS Kickoff Expanded internal workgroup. Reallocation of funds for future support. Planned promotion. Scheduling of administrative workshops and initial coaches and team trainings. Financial support of coaches within CESA’s MPS begins PBIS. Development of statewide PBIS Steering Committee IDEA Discretionary Funds pay for coaches training for CESA personnel and Trainer of Trainers training. Team and internal coaches are funded by districts. These trainings are hosted by CESA’s or local districts. It is also important to note that districts must use approved trainers or they will not be part of WI PBIS Network.

RTI Center and PBIS Reorganization of REACh initiative into statewide RTI Center. RTI Center Divisions: Social/Emotional/Behavioral, Data-Based Decision Making, Academic Achievement, Organizational Structure and Capacity New RTI Director, hiring of PBIS Coordinator and Data Manager WI model based on ILL. Model with Statewide TA Ctr. With four regional TA specialists

The future for PBIS in Wisconsin Continued support for expansion on the Universal tier Development of regional coaching structures through CESA’s Expansion of coach and team training at other tiers Wisconsin State Summit on PBIS 2010-2011 Our plan is to be Independent in 2-3 years with our own TA people.
