Welcome to Kindergarten at LLT Academy

First Weeks of School WORDS OF ADVICE - BE PATIENT: As your student adjusts to the expectations and changes that come with going to school and learning how to listen to others and be a friend. Their immune systems also need time to build up. They will require more sleep than normal on school days. It is okay if they aren’t perfect, they are children and they are learning each day.

Communication Between Home and School DOJO Each parent will receive access to the kindergarten DOJO. This is a great resource to reach your teachers in a text style format. Please understand that they are teaching the majority of the school day and will respond to your message at their first opportunity. EMAIL You can reach the teachers or administrators by going to the school website or emailing. . Mrs. McLaughlin - jmclaughlin@lltacademy.com Ms. Hauser - mhauser@lltacademy.com Mrs. Austin - saustin@lltacademy.com Mrs. Rutherford - jrutherford@lltacademy.com Mrs. Flores - sflores@lltacademy.com Teachers are not required to check or answer emails after hours. They will return your communication with a response within 24 hours on a school day.

Websites For Academic Success Here is a sample of what they will be doing.

SAVE THE DATE: Teachers will present detailed information about curriculum concepts, grading, reading strategies, and online resources.

All other grades will be dropped off through the carline. First Day of School We encourage you to walk your kindergarten students to their classroom on the first day of school beginning at 8 am. All other grades will be dropped off through the carline.

Join us at the Boo Hoo Breakfast I know this first day is hard, but believe me, it's harder on us parents than it is on our kids. The more cheerfully you leave them in our care, the better -- it sends the message that you have faith in them and that you trust us to take good care of them. We're parents, too, so we know what a gift that trust is, and we cherish it! The best gift you can give your child on the first day of school is your confidence and your smiles. Join us in the cafeteria for a light breakfast and coffee. This is the beginning of great friendships with other families.

Leader In Me Culture Academics Leadership We are in our third year as a Leader In Me school. We teach the students the 7 Habits of highly successful people to create a strong environment in all of these areas. Visit http://www.theleaderinme.org/parents/
