Understanding National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) Basic Reports Offer insight into what graduates are doing postsecondary. List type of institution student is enrolled (2-yr, 4-yr, in-state, out-of-state, public, priv…) When students enroll 1st semester after high school graduation Any time during the first year following high school graduation Any time during the first two years following high school graduation Persistence Completed a degree An example of one of the Basic Reports showing the percentage of students enrolling in all, 4-year and 2-year postsecondary institutions.
Understanding nSC Basic Reports Each graduating class (In this example, the Class of 2010 is displayed) will have a chart following the students who graduated within 4 years from high school through his/her postsecondary experience. This data does not include a information for: Students NSC is unable to match due to data discrepancies Approximately 3% of students who are enrolled in a postsecondary institution who does not report data to NSC.
