PROBLEM: EXCESS C-SECTION RATE PRIVATE (~85%) AND PUBLIC (~50%) SECTORS Lack of reliable measurement of adverse events, patient satisfaction and costs PILOT COLLABORATIVE Intervention: Improvement Science; IHI Breakthrough Series (BTS) Collaborative – 18 months AIM Increase % of vaginal births from 21.5% baseline to 40%. Achieved 38% in 18 months of collaborative work. 2. CONTENT THEORY 4 Primary Drivers (contextualized evidence base) 26 Pioneer Pilot Hospitals (22 private; 4 public) 1. Coalition of key stakeholders aligned around quality and safety 2. Empowerment of pregnant women to ensure readiness for vaginal delivery 3.
