P5 Lowport Residential Trip 29th October – 2nd November 2018

Itinerary Monday – Wednesday: Miss Barclay’s class Arrive at school as normal Monday 9.00am Bring own packed lunch Depart for Lowport 9.30am sharp Arrive Lowport Centre 10.00am Unpack, reminder of rules and regulations including fire procedures Rules for mealtimes etc. from Lowport Cook. Wednesday – Friday: Miss Gorman’s class Arrive at school as normal Wednesday 9.00am Depart for Lowport 12.30pm Arrive Lowport Centre 1.00pm

Security Lowport staff member on duty at all times Entry system in operation, only staff able to access Residential Areas Harrysmuir staff placed on each floor at strategic positions Harrysmuir pupils only residents at Centre

Medicine/Emergencies Medical form+EE2 for each child Mrs Robertson is trained in First Aid Lowport Staff First Aider contactable at all times during stay Leader in regular contact with HT during stay All Lowport Staff fully trained according to regulations for Outdoor Education In the event of family emergency contact Harrysmuir during school hours or the school mobile for out of hours (number will be provided before the children depart)

Accommodation Ground floor has 6 twin rooms First floor has 4 twin rooms and 2 rooms containing three beds Top floor has 1 twin room and 2 rooms containing four beds All rooms have access to their own shower and toilet

Food Breakfast - a variety of cereals, toast and juices every day. A different choice each day such as French toast, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs Packed Lunch - chosen beforehand such as tuna, egg, meat, salad Dinner - a variety of simple but wholesome food such as chicken, fish, macaroni Supper – toast or homemade tray bakes, milk or juice Vegetarian and special/medical diets catered for as required

Clothes Indoor shoes – slippers or clean trainers Nightwear – including dressing gown Toiletries/Towel/Underwear – no spray deoderant Waterproof/warm jacket/gloves/hat Comfortable shoes such as old trainers Wellies Trousers/tracksuit bottoms/jumpers Scruffy clothes for outdoor activities Extra socks/underwear required (it may be cold or could get wet and muddy) Waterproof trousers (if possible) Clothes for the disco on the last night

Admin Pocket money is £5 and should be handed into the Class Teacher/Office for safe keeping. (5 £1 coins would be good) Please do not provide your child with any additional money Please do not let the children bring mobile phones If they wish, they can bring a camera (but nothing valuable – a disposable one would be best)

Itinerary Lowport Centre Activities are on a rota basis and usually begin at 9.30am and finish at approximately 4pm Activities such as Woodland Adventure and Indoor Climbing.

Visits to Linlithgow Palace and Linlithgow Loch Itinerary Visits to Linlithgow Palace and Linlithgow Loch Linlithgow High Street Trail Lunch 12.00-12.30pm provided at the Lowport Centre (Tuesday and Wednesday OR Thursday and Friday). Dinner - 5pm

Itinerary Evening Activities - Daily Diary/ Bingo/ Board Games/ Check-in/ Story telling Disco and games on final evening Groups will be given items to create a Halloween outfit Supper/Bed 8.30-9.00 pm Return to school 1pm approximately on Wednesday/Friday

Payment The total cost of the trip is £125 (plus £5 pocket money) Full payment is required by Friday 20th October 2018. You can pay using your Ipayimpact account, this will show your current balance. If you receive Free school meals you may be eligible for a discount- please see the school office for more information.
