WELCOME TO PAIGNTON COMMUNITY & SPORTS ACADEMY YEAR 10 SUCCESS EVENING 3rd November 2016

PURPOSE OF THIS EVENING To explain the changes to the new GCSE grading system To explain the changes of the new exam requirements To have an opportunity to speak to subject staff To learn more about Higher/Further Education

Move to Progress 8 Progress is measured from KS2 to the end of KS4 Each student has a Progress 8 target number and an Aspirational target number

Key changes to GCSEs Move to numbers instead of letters 100% exams Removal of most Controlled Assessment/coursework A third more content to learn A good pass is deemed as a 5 (top C/bottom B)
