Title Capacity Building of Cambodian Trade Unions for Implementing Decent Work

Time Frame Starting 2012 Ending 2015

BACKGROUND & JUSTIFICATION 13 Conventions have been ratified since 1960s especially the FoA and CBA have not abided well via applying DWCP is need to involve in for + Employment creation + Social dialog/social protection + Rights at work + Productivities Decent work is approved for national program since 2006 DWCP is freshly signed in this year by the ministry of Labor and Vocational Training - Spreading out DW framework to workers/members to improve capacity of dealing with the management

TARGET GROUP & PARTIES INVOLVED 50-50 gender participation Training of Trainers for 0participants from 5 confederation [totally 50participants] at various sectors: garment/textile/footwear/construction and wood workers/service and tourism/agriculture and food/public service/salt field/transportation/fishing and informal economy 50participants of TOT to follow up. Trade union supporting NGO ( ILO, FES, Acils, CLEC, LO-FTF, ITUC, ITGLWF…)

OBJECTIVES Promoting TU in Cambodia TU can measure the level of DW at workplace Completing of this workplan (project) union leaders will be aware of DW and ready to disseminate to their prospective members at grassroots level Archiving the better implementation at workplace in order to get DW in place via negotiation and CBA

ACTIVITIES TO ACHIEVE THE OBJECTIVES -Capacity Building on DWCP -All 5 confederations organize one strategy for all Training materials will be publishing accordingly for each confederation in Cambodian version Creating DW team consisted from each confederation Training of Trainers for 3workshop a long with 60 trainers (resource persons from ILO and each confederation) Conducting workshop for national DW team Conducting workshop for grassroots leaders Number of workshop and participant will be organized via each confederation accordingly by their TOT + 48 workshops from all different confederation + 20participant / workshop + Totally, there will be 960 participants
