Agenda Reading Journaling Read and Annotate “A Red Red Rose” using ISHAAMPOO Compare and Contrast “A Red Red Rose” and Tupac’s “Love is Just Complicated” 6 word story challenge

Red Red Rose After reading the poem, annotate it with IISHAAMPOO. Write a summary on the bottom

Compare and Contrast How are the two poem similar? How are they different? What stylistic elements are most common in each poem? (These are the IISHAAMPOO terms) What is a common theme of the poems? Remember, a theme is the topic + the author’s feelings, not just one word. Which poem do you relate more to? Why?

6 Word Story Challenge Inspired by Hemingway's famous six-word tale, "For sale: baby shoes, never worn,” the "six word story“ is a prompt in which you tell a story in six words or less. The trick to leave enough to the imagination that the reader can infer the backstory.

Closing Question Six Word Story Challenge: Write your own six word story. Your topic: Love. Mr. Brown’s example: I watched him walk away. Again When you are finished, put your name on it and put it on the door.
