What images and descriptive language is associated with love in Part 1? What image of love is presented in The Knight’s Tale? Between Brothers vs. Lovers?

A Brotherly Oath Arcite & Palamon are sworn brothers Their oath of brotherhood conflicts with their desire to love. Both men love Emily, but they are suppose to be loyal to eachother. They break their bond for love.

Setting Up Part 2 How does Arcite get out of prison, and why is he upset about getting out?

Satire: Ridicule, Sarcasm & Hyperbole Although the Knight’s Tale isn’t laugh out loud funny or loaded with dirty jokes, it is still a satire In this tale, Chaucer uses ridicule, sarcasm, and hyperbole to show how foolish the knights are Chaucer is trying to point out how ridiculously the noble class acts especially when it comes to courtly love
