Schoolwide Program Plan (ESSA 1114 (b)(4)) October Cycle Schoolwide Program Plan (ESSA 1114 (b)(4)) A schoolwide program plan is a comprehensive school plan to upgrade the core academic program in a high-poverty school, without distinguishing between eligible and ineligible children. Allows LEAs to use the key elements of Title I.A to upgrade their entire educational program so all students can reach high educational standards. A school is eligible to implement a schoolwide program if at least 40% of the enrolled students are economically deprived, 40% of the school attendance center children are from economically deprived families or the school has an approved waiver from DESE. The benefits of schoolwide programs include having much more flexibility on how participating schools spend their Title I money. Schoolwide programs also have the option of combining their federal Title funds into to schoolwide pot so there might in that way be more money to use to work towards schoolwide goals. DRAFT
