WHAT DOES THE HOLY SPIRIT DO?

The Holy Spirit gives life.   John 6:63 Romans 8:10-11 He convicts men of sin, righteousness, and judgment. John 16:7-8 He is given to those who believe. John 7:39

We must resist Him in order to be lost. He wants us to be saved. We must resist Him in order to be lost.   Acts 7:51 1 Thessalonians 5:19 He comforts us. Acts 9:31 He can fill us. Acts 13:52 Ephesians 5:18

The Holy Spirit makes men bishops/shepherds/elders.   Acts 20:28 The Spirit increases our love. Romans 5:5 He gives us the law that makes us free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2

He gives us freedom from sin, death, and the world.   2 Corinthians 3:17 We are being transformed into the image of the Lord by the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18 He partners with us in our relationship and service to God. 2 Corinthians 13:14

He helps us to eagerly anticipate God's promises. He matures us.   Galatians 3:3 He helps us to eagerly anticipate God's promises. Galatians 5:5 He keeps us from fulfilling the lusts of the flesh. Galatians 5:16

The Holy Spirit wars against our fleshly desires.   Galatians 5:17 He produces godly characteristics in our lives. Galatians 5:22-23 Ephesians 5:9 He will produce everlasting life for us. Galatians 6:8

In conjunction with Christ, He gives us access to the Father.   Ephesians 2:18 It is in the Spirit that we are being built together as a dwelling place of God. Ephesians 2:21-22 The Holy Spirit gives strength to our spirit. Ephesians 3:16

He helps Christians to be united.   Ephesians 4:1-3 Philippians 2:1-2 He uses the word of God to cut to our hearts. Ephesians 6:17 He helps us to guard the gospel and our salvation. 2 Timothy 1:14

We are made new by the Holy Spirit.   Titus 3:5 The Holy Spirit witnesses to us through the word of God. Hebrews 10:15-17 He purifies and assists us in obeying the truth. 1 Peter 1:22

He rests upon us when we are persecuted for righteousness.   1 Peter 4:14 He invites men to salvation through the word of God. Revelation 22:17
