RIGOR rigor : the difficult and unpleasant conditions or experiences that are associated with something : the quality or state of being very exact, careful, or strict Mr.Warnock wants to see academic rigor in all of the teacher’s lesson plans.

EMPATHY : the feeling that you understand and share another person's experiences and emotions : the ability to share someone else's feelings. When my friend’s mom died, I felt empathetic because I was also sad.

FUNDAMENTAL : forming or relating to the most important part of something. In order to read, it is fundamental that you know your alphabet first.

MENTOR someone who teaches or gives help and advice to a less experienced and often younger person. After college, her professor became her close friend and mentor. He needed a mentor to teach him about the world of politics. We volunteer as mentors to disadvantaged children
