Psychological Needs Security: Need to feel safe Familiarity: Need to be in an area where a person grew up Beauty: Need to live in pretty surroundings Privacy: Need for a quiet place Self-Expression: Need to express self through decorating and hobbies

Examples: Live where crime rate is low; choice of landscaping and gardening

Types of Activities in the Home SOCIAL ZONE: Activities for the family and their friends. PRIVATE ZONE: Generally the bathroom and bedroom. Activities include sleeping, bathing, and dressing. WORK ZONE: Area where work is done such as the kitchen for food preparation; may also be area for tasks such as studying.
