Science vs. Pseudoscience The truth about alternative facts!

What is ? Testable Can be verified The result of experimentation and observation Systematic Seeks to falsify claims through testing Relies on empirical evidence (using your senses as a means of observation and experimentation)

What is Pseudoscience? Claims are untestable Seeks to confirm a claim or belief Relies on anecdotal evidence (based on hearsay or personal accounts)

Weekly Horoscope(♍) Avoid the details as the week gets going. Apply that focus to the bigger picture, and you'll be amazed at what you can discover. Plus, who knew that being more laid back when it comes to the little things could feel like such a relief? It's work that demands focus around Wednesday and Thursday -- you've got a chance to look like an all-star there if you apply yourself now. Social stuff -- or hot dates! -- should be scheduled for Friday and the weekend, when there's less static and more sparkle coming from the stars. Keep Sunday open.

Classify: Science, Pseudoscience or both? Makes unbiased observations Often driven by cultural or commercial goals Makes claims about the natural world Astrology Involves constant reevaluation of what is known Research designed to justify existing knowledge Discards observations that are not consistent with beliefs Bases claims on a large amount of data Uses Peer Review

“Scientific research in the field of medicine uses strict standards of science such as controlling variables, using appropriate sample size, having results that are able to be verified/replicated, collecting data that is measureable/empirical, and seeking to disprove a claim.” True or False?
