Studying Mathematics
In The Classroom Attendance is important. Listen and actively participate in lessons. Ask questions! Set your work out logically – it tells a story! Mark all your classwork. Correct any errors. Don’t waste class time! CORNELL NOTES can be used to summarise lessons (see next slide).
Cornell Notes Use in class as teacher is talking. Use to revise a topic as part of your study routine. Example
Test and Exam Preparation Start preparing early. Prepare your notes and learn anything relevant for the non-resource section. Do lots of questions under test/exam conditions. Test/Exam Notes: Don’t write too small Use headings and colour to make things stand out Do not fold your notes!
Test/Exam Day Get enough sleep before assessments. Eat healthy and get regular exercise. Read over your notes before you head in. Use your reading time effectively. Always start with a question you are comfortable with. Keep track of time and be prepared to leave a question if it is taking too long. Check your work carefully if you finish early!!!
Handouts Have a great year!!!
