Applied Trig Challenge Due 2/8/2016

Guidelines For The Challenge You will work in small groups You may use a ruler, yardstick and calculator You must type your results and explain your problem solving in detail You will need to be creative to estimate results you can not directly measure All problems can be solved!! Reference examples in your notes Show all math and add a diagram to your solutions Your explanation is as important as the number Be thorough in your explanations

1. Find the angle of inclination for the stairs in the main hall

2. Find the acute angle (in white) in the main hall

3. Find the acute angle in the W in the lobby

4. Find the acute angle in the tile in the lobby (by the auditorium)

5. Find the oblique angle in the wall near guidance.

6. Find the angle of inclination in the door stop for guidance.

7. Find both angles in the wall near the drinking fountain by the team locker rooms.

8. Find the angle of inclination of phone.

9. Find the angle of the leg with the floor.

10. Find the angle the back leg of the chair makes with the floor.

11. Find the angle the top of the lockers make with the wall.

12. What is the angle of the plaques to the shelf?

13. Find the angle of Mr. McKiernan’s arm with the wall.
