Potential & Kinetic Energy. Energy The ability to do work The ability to cause matter to move The ability to cause matter to change Measured in joules.
Kinetic and Potential Energy have many forms. 1. Mechanical Energy - Energy associated with motion or position.
Forms of Energy. Nature of Energy Energy is the ability to do work. If an object or organism does work, then it uses energy. Work is the use of a force.

Our Universe explained

Our Universe is made up of three things: Space-time Energy Matter

Spacetime The 3 Dimensions of Space plus the 4th dimension: time

Matter Anything that has mass and volume

Energy The ability to move or change matter

5 Forms of energy mechanical energy chemical energy electromagnetic energy nuclear energy heat energy

mechanical energy energy of moving matter includes sound and motion

chemical energy energy stored in bonds between atoms converted to other forms when bonds formed or broken

electromagnetic energy energy of light and electricity

nuclear energy energy stored in the nucleus of an atom. converted to other forms when nuclei are split or fused

Heat energy Energy of fast- moving particles in matter

is the ability to move or change matter energy is the ability to move or change matter
