Considerations Following our first detailed design session a number of considerations have been raised with DSG on 19th November Request to DSC members to look at cleansing the Market Sector Code in preparation for this change Look at potential options on how we identify Pre-payment devices (proposal to be brought to next DSG) Advise if DSC members have EUC’s hardcoded in their systems or do they load what is provided in the .EUC T67

Identification of Prepayment Meters Proposal for the identification of Prepayment Devices… if No Asset Present then EUC Meter Type = Non-Prepayment (assumption on default) elseif [Meter Mechanism] = “PP” or “CM” or “ET” or “MT” or “TH” then EUC Meter Type = Prepayment elseif [Meter Mechanism] = “S1” or “S2” or “NS” and [Payment Method] = “PP” then else EUC Meter Type = Non-Prepayment Above logic was discussed and supported by DSG on 3rd December EUC Meter Type is a logical indicator as a result of the conditions above, only for the purpose of identifying if an asset is deemed as Prepayment, this will not become a standing data item.

Additional Considerations Discussions have been had with the DESC and DSG in when we should apply a new EUC if the MSC/EUC Meter Type is amended Use the MSC/EUC Meter Type amendments to trigger an EUC update ASAP (D+2) Carry out EUC update as part of existing processes (AQ Roll etc) DESC & DSG have recommended option 2 due to the potential code updates needed to implement option 1

Additional Considerations Continued Option 2 would allow minimal impact on current business processes and code that underpins these The re-assigning of the EUC’s will only be done when either… A Rolling AQ calc is triggered As part of the EUC re-assigning for the start of the New Gas Year Or where current EUC’s are re-assigned

Additional Considerations Continued If a single MSC update is applied, there is a potential that the EUC would not be re-assigned until Rolling AQ is triggered (e.g. wait for a meter read to be submitted) MSC is deemed a low change data item however, potential mitigation steps… Data cleansing MSC prior to EUC implementation would limit the amount of movement post go-live If an MSC is updated, follow this up with a read submission to trigger Rolling AQ RGMA updates will automatically trigger Rolling AQ
