oisture Tester Design Brief HOMEWORK DUE IN INSULATORS AND CONDUCTORS

Objectives Understand the design brief Analyse the task Write a specification

The Situation… Houseplants can suffer if owners do not give them the correct amount of water. House plants can die if they do not receive enough water, and they can rot if they are over watered.

Too Wet Too Dry The leaves look limp and have rotten areas. The lower leaves might be curling and turning brown. The leaves will be wilted and not grow. They will also turn yellow then brown. Flowers die.

Design Brief… What is a Design Brief? A statement that clearly states the aim of your project – the problem you have to solve Write a Design Brief for your moisture tester.

Task Analysis… What is a Task Analysis? It is a way asking yourself what you need to think about or know to help you meet the design brief – information you need to know Complete a Task Analysis for your moisture tester.

Specification… What is a Specification? It is a list of factors that your design must fit – what you will do to solve your problem Write a Specification for your moisture tester.
