Research Methods Quiz 4

1. What design am I using for each one below? (2 points each) I randomly assign some people to drive while talking to a person in the car and other people to drive while talking on the phone and measure the number of accidents they get into. I observe a group of people waiting for a bus to see what influences their willingness to talk to each other. I survey people to find out how they feel about food choices on campus.

2. Why doesn’t correlation imply causation? (2 points) 3. Provide an example (of your own) illustrating the problem of correlation and causation. Highlight the interpretive ambiguity. (2 points)
