Live Flesh Theo, Louis, Finley.

Victor (Liberto Rabal) goes to meet Elena (Francesca Neri) for a date Victor (Liberto Rabal) goes to meet Elena (Francesca Neri) for a date. Elena, uninterested, tells Victor to leave the apartment before her dealer gets there. Their ensuing argument and struggle draw the attention of policemen Sancho (José Sancho) and David (Javier Bardem). As Elena flees, her gun goes off, paralyzing David. Six years later, Victor gets out of jail and begins having an affair with Sancho's wife, as David and Elena's marriage falls apart. Live Flesh's Synopsis

Micro Feature This is a scene from right at the start of the film. They've used a close up to capture the pain and distraught in the detectives face after he has been shot. As well as this they have framed him to be stuck between the bars, it almost makes him look insane, like he is out of his mind.

Micro Feature Pedro Almodovar's use of shot types in the film has many implications regarding the characters and their stories. By framing two characters together alone (two shot) also being a close up of their faces.

By including leaps in time inside the narrative of Live Flesh, Pedro Almodovar is able to shock the audience and thus re-attain the audience’s attention. The change in time and location urges the audience to maintain focus on the narrative, which in turn brings them closer to the unfolding story arch's of the main characters. One prominent aspect of Pedro Almodovar‘s film which is especially notable is the way he positions the audience and how/whom he aligns the audience with. The way the narrative unfolds in Live Flesh, slowly revealing that the supposed antagonist of the film, is in reality a different person to who he has been framed as at the beginning of the film. By doing this, Almodovar has allowed the audience to be intrigued in the story and build more affection for the narrative. Narrative Structure

Throughout the film, it is clear that women are inferior to the men.  Women could be perceived as sexual objects – their main storyline is to fulfill the men's sexual needs.  They seem completely powerless to the men, they are pushed around for the whole thing.  Representation
