2018 Timeline of Achievements April 2018 - Mandatory Grants – by completing Work Place Skills Plans (WSPs) April 2018 - Discretionary Grants – for implementation of the Forestry Supervisor Development Programme (SDP) (Implemented and Applied for) 2018 DG allocation to SAFCA – R500 000,00 for Mpu SDP –Mondi contractors 1 January 2018 to date -Implemented to date 1398 training interventions with 10 000 learners to the value of over R11 million for the industry on contractor worker programmes Monthly audits on training providers and training material including monitoring of SDP Programmes Assisted with quality assurance in various instances pertaining to training content, certification, licence tags Manage a Learner Management System Co-ordinated preassessments for the implementation of the SDP Planned and implemented SDP programmes Fast track Statement of results for SDP so that learners can graduate – co-ordinated Graduation Ceremonies for completed learners of the SDP One stop shop as a result of Records Management for BBBEE Reports Weekly payment of training providers Developed and registered qualifications Developed training material for qualifications Conducted surveys Represented contractors and industry at various forums Event Managed the Forestry Training Indaba 2019/02/22

Priority Training Areas We continue to train in these priority areas: Chainsaw Operator training Supervisor training Harvester Operator Technology Driver interventions - Modernisation and the training on new technology and equipment will continue New Focus on the following priority areas Driving Skills (Focus on driving on plantation as well as national roads) Fire Fighting (very specific target training is envisaged) Occupational certification - Implementation of the newly registered occupational qualifications 2019/02/22

How far have we come in the quest to develop Forestry Occupational Qualifications Production Operations Supervisor Production Operations Foreman Small Power Tool Operator Logging Plant Operator Safety Officer Silviculture Operator Tree Feller Fire Fighting What is Registered with SAQA – Next phase – Material Development Submitted to QCTO in new format – waiting for registration Currently under development Completed development – re-formatted into QCTO requirements for Part Qualifications - 18 qualifications from 16 part qualifications – to be edited by SME and thereafter submitted to the FPMSETA Registered with SAQA – and Material is being developed – Look forward to the industry meeting possibly in December To start development in Jan 2019 Developed and reformatted according to QCTO requirements for Part Qualifications – Titles are a concern Scoping Meeting suggested by the FPMSETA – Addendum to current SLA with LGSETA 2019/02/22
