Presentation transcript:

There Will Come Soft Rains By Ray Bradbury

The Cold War The Cold War started at the end of World War II. It was a war without a shot fired…..it was a war of money, resources and especially weapons……Nuclear weapons.

A War of Fear Because of the recent use of nukes on Japan at the end of the war, the horrors of this type of weapon were fresh in peoples’ minds. Science fiction writers use their craft to explore the fears of society in regards to new technology……

Post Apocalyptic Dystopia What if the very things designed to make our lives safer were to destroy us??? This is a question asked by science fiction writers….they explore our hopes and fears and reflect the time from which they come……

Bradbury’s story “There Will Come Soft Rains” tells us a lot about what people worried about during this time in history. It serves as a warning of a sort….. What is his message to us? How does he make his point? How does this story make you feel?
