Sir Francis Drake Sir Francis Drake lived from 1540–1596.He was the second person to succesfully circumnavigate the world. He was a famous circumnavigator in the time period of 1577 to 1580.

Facts The famous explorer was from and sailed for England. Drake was born in Tavistock,England between 1541 and 1543.

About Sir Francis Drake It took Drake a little more than three years to sail around the world. Drake was worried his ships might get separated from each other so he destroyed two of them. More Facts About Sir Francis Drake

About His Life Drake had two wives but no children. He married his first wife,Mary Newman,when he was 25. When Drake was 12 or 13 Drake was at sea with his father.
