Why We went to Stackpole to get more independent and to get our John Muir award. Why and John Muir John Muir award The John Muir award has 4 parts: discovering, conserving, sharing and exploring.

Nature Conserving: At stackpole there is a lot of nature that has been imported from humid countries: for instance pheasant berry (which was from India) which is non-indigenous. This is a weed and we helped by picking it.

Who was John Muir John Muir was born on the 21 of April and died on the 24 of December 1914. John Muir was the first person in the world to build a national park, it was named Yellowstone in the U.S.A.

Exploring and Discovering We explored Stackpole woods when we went orienteering, also we saw different landscapes like church rock. Discovering We discovered allsorts of creatures from red lava worms to deadly pikes.
