James 3:5-8 Matthew 26:59-61 1 Peter 3:10 Slander is a terrible but often unrecognized sin. It hurts others and is an offense to God. We must seek to rid it from our lives. Are You a Slanderer? James 3:5-8 Matthew 26:59-61 1 Peter 3:10

Recognizing the Sin of Slander It puts you in the position of the Judge (James 4:11-12; Matthew 7:1; John 7:24) It has its roots in pride and conceit (1 Timothy 6:4; Titus 3:2; 2 Cor. 12:20)

The Damage of Slander It goes viral (Proverbs 18:8;) It causes strife and destroys relationships (Proverbs 16:28) It crushes people (Proverbs 25:28; 26:28) It destroys a good name (Proverbs 22:1)

How the Lord views Slander He forbids it among His people (Exodus 20:16; 23:1; Leviticus 19:16; Ephesians 4:31) He deems it worthy of the harshest punishment (Psalm 101:5; 50:19-22)

What should you do about Slander? Examine yourself! If you are guilty, stop it, confess it, and seek forgiveness!
